Well, here I am again. Not a whole lot new, but I'm at work and bored. Fifty minutes to go, and have all my work done, as well as a few other people's. And I'm trying to stay away from the molasses crinkles in the Bistro (only 5 last time I looked, and I promised Gabe I'd not eat all the cookies if he was following my shift ;) and the brownie which I snagged from the kitchen. It's staring at me, and I'm pretty much avoiding it. Think I'll save that for him, too, in spite of the fact that he's not a chocolate lover.
Sunday last, Kaydee skipped town to spend Father's Day with her folks at Leavenworth, and left me to run the video by myself. Wes is on 2 weeks' vacation, so Jesse was preaching. Jesse can't preach without playing a video clip. This time it was from "Hook". But that was a little beyond my abilities (for a first solo run, anyway), so told him no. Was hopeful that he'd have to do without, but the sound tech managed to do it from his equipment. Darn! I really dislike those video clips in the Sunday morning service. Youth groups - fine. Sunday morning with a church full of 50- to 70-somethings. Eh. Anyway, the video process worked pretty smoothly. No major glitches. Actually, I was a bit late getting one song up because a couple of people directly in front of me were playing musical chairs - like moving the chairs, not just bodies. Very distracting. If nothing else, this job is forcing me to hone my focusing skills. Anyway, I was encouraged for the first solo run. We'll see if she wants to meet Friday, or if she lets me run with it this week. I enjoy it. It's a lot of fun.
I think that's going to be it for this time. Blessings.

The old "distraction" ploy. Been there. Sometimes I'd find myself so involved in worshiping that I wouldn't notice I was a verse behind on the slides =O)
As for the video, I applaud it's use however, it's usually a good thing to exercise a little restraint. Two or three videos a year usually fits the bill, but videos every time can be a but much.
With any luck most of his audience won't remember that he keeps using video clips ;O)
Pfffffft! ;) I love you too! As for worshipping - I haven't yet gotten to the point of worshipping - just focusing. I can do more worshipping right now during practice when I'm not so worried about screwing up. If I need to go over something I might have missed, it's no big deal. During the service - I got one chance.
By the way, how do you add your name "Posted by Aaron (or whoever) at the bottom of a comment?
